Downtown Berne milling and paving projects will begin July 13, 2026. The City’s Contractor will do their best to minimize disruptions to local businesses and residents. Please use caution in these areas and expect street closures. Thank you for your patience.

Berne, Indiana (04/24/26) - The City of Berne recently celebrated over three decades as a Tree City USA community! In honor of National Arbor Day, the Berne Tree Board planted a tree at the city's maintenance building located at 865 Berne Street. Please help us take a moment to THANK our citizens, volunteers, and local leaders, for their continuous efforts to benefit our entire community by planting one tree at a time, which will continue to grow for generations to come.
